![]() Drake recorded the album in New York City in late 2009 and early 2010 with additional recording done in Atlanta, Georgia. ![]() Drake’s mother Debbie served as executive producer along with 40. Other contributors include rappers Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and fellow singers/rappers The-Dream and Kanye West. In addition to working with producers 40 and Boi-Ida, Drake enlisted the help of Alicia Keys who contributed background vocals to three tracks on the album. On December 17, 2009, he announced his collaboration with record label Cash Money Records through Twitter that he titled the project as Thanks Me Later and revealed it would be released by the end of 2010. After releasing his critically acclaimed mixtape So Far Gone (2010), Drake teamed up with producer Noah “40” Shebib to work on his upcoming debut album.
